Thanks to you guys I installed a new Sub in the trunk
I think the stock Jag B&W system is the best stock system i've ever heard, but i decided after a few years of ownership to pump up the bottom end a bit. a long long time ago i was huge into car stereo and still had all my gear sitting in the basement. Decided to put it to good use!
I haven't messed with fiberglass in 15 years so it was a bit of a re-learn process, but i wanted to get something going where i can still keep my spare tire. Glassed up a box to fit in the corner and used my old kicker L7 12'. Where the sub is now i did a quick and dirty amp rack, then i can place a board over it and put the spare on top. it all fits like a glove! I reused my kicker SX900.4, so the sub is only getting about 450-500 watts from the rear channels, but i didn't want to pay for a new amp. ClassAB isn't ideal, but i can swap it for class D later. I found out the hard way the LC2 from audio control is mandatory, i used others and they just dont work.
All in all it costs me about $120 in materials, including the LC2. I couldn't have done it without the previous posts of installs, especially Kyanite. It really is a pretty simple install so if you are thinking about doing it, do it!
Thanks! With the B&W system its pretty easy. i just cut the 4 wires going to the factory sub and plugged them into the LC2. The LC2 does the rest of the work, providing the signal and remote turn on to the amp.
