So I am in the final Stages of assembly of my motor and I am having a hard time with the timing marks on the plastic guides. I can get the left side of the motor perfectly with the mark on the chain pointed exactly at the plastic guide but the right side is slightly off. I was wondering if they ever properly match up 100%? Both chains go on the same sprocket so if one chain is matched up the other should be as well. No matter if I go forward one tooth or back one tooth it's slightly past the mark on the plastic guide.
This was mine, which was spot-on. But I don't see how yours can be wrong. I do think the marks are to identify the link, doesn't have to line up exactly with the center in my opinion, at least not until fully assembled. If you put the tensioners in and remove the cable ties you will probably find the left one will move which will then bring the right one into alignment. Is the crank alignment device in place in place of the crankshaft sensor?
