Timing chain replacement time?

Default Timing chain replacement time?

Can anyone tell me whats the round about time it takes to do the timing chain on a 2010 xfr ..I can't seem to get a time ..I've heard 45 hours ,15 hours ..anyone done theirs or took it somewhere that knows .thanks

where ru located? my car is at eurotoys in illinois right now getting them done along with a bunch of other stuff.

I'm down in Florida unfortunately..I'm just trying to get an idea of how long it takes since I've seen anywhere from 15 hours to 40 hours..

I think the most important thing is to use someone who has done this repair multiple times. You DON'T want your car to be a training job for the mechanic!
I would also post on this forum to find recommendations for repair places in your part of the country. There are some very good independent shops but they must have Jaguar experience or it's just a crap shoot!

Yea definitely but I'm just trying to figure out an actual correct time so If I don't decide to do it myself and they tell me how long it takes I can actually see if they are somewhat close..

Changing the tensioners and guides is much easier and probably all it needs. Which style of chain does it have?

Not sure what you mean by what style..it's a 2010 xfr so I know it has the 6mm if that's what you mean ..

Doesn't always follow. My 2010 XFR has 6.35mm, 2010 Range Rover has 8mm.

This what 6.35mm looks like through oil filler........

Thanks kansanbrit! Great tip to tell which chain setup your car has. I am sure my 2014 has the 8mm stuff but will take a look.

Whci is worse 8mm or 6 mm in terms of issues

i believe mike said the original one which i believe was the 8 mm seemed way heavier and better quality plus that chain was twince as much if that means anything

6.35mm is very rare, I believe 2010 Jags only.

6.35mm (1/4") was original.
