Tire Pressure Monitoring System fault - Remove fuse?
I installed 4 new sensors that were supposed to be OEM, but I am still getting the TPMS fault. What would happen if I removed the TPMS fuse? It's F33 in the luggage compartment and according to the manual, only operates the TPMS.
How long has it been? The TPMS self resets though it could take over 50 miles.
It's been well over a month and there have been several trips that would have been enough for the recommended reset process. I have not however, made any trips of 50 miles or more in a single trip.
Did you have the codes checked? Where did you get the sensors from? Also, I believe there is a number on the sensor that needs to be put into the SDD when calibrating and programming.

My understanding from my Indy is that there are no codes showing. And I also understand that the proper procedure was followed when they were installed. I got the sensors from eBay and the seller indicated they were OEM. I realize I took a chance not getting them from the Dealer, but it was $225 vs. $750
Check your initiators behind the bumpers. Someone before me had one clip in backwards. If you remove the air deflector (plastic covering under the car) there is one on each side at the front. You can loosen the cover just enough to get to it, that's if you don't want to take off the air deflector to fully access the initiators.
take a picture of the warning in your display and let us see what it shows...that will help guide you to the right solution.
It says "Tire Pressure System Fault" with a yellow triangle. When I purchased the car, the owner had just installed 4 new rims and winter tires. He hadn't taken the sensors from the summer wheels. That was the warning I was getting then. After installing the new sensors, the same warning remained. I had thought about taking the sensors from the summer wheels, but since they were already 6 years old, I was advised that they might not be working properly anyway.
No one has really answered my initial question - What happens if I just remove the fuse? I'm wondering if the system would recognize a fault in the system if the system had no power going to it. I suspect it can't be that simple but it was worth a try.
Removing the fuse wont do anything. The system will still trigger the warning on your dash. Send those TPMS sensors back and get the Jag OEM's. I also have switched wheels. My 20" Sentas are sitting in the garage with the sensors, and the 19" Volutions are on the car without sensors. I just live with having to disable the warning every time I start the car. There is a way to disable the system completely, but you have to have the SDD software to do it. But you already know that.

Who is reading the codes for you - an indy or a jag dealer? There should be a code for the fault - but you need a jag specific reader to access it I suspect
Any tyre shop should have a wand that can check the sensors are transmitting without having to take the wheels off the car. Takes 2 mins. Check that they are operational and transmitting.
I agree, removing the fuse wont do anything. These cars have networks on them, and if a module goes missing, or the fuse is gone, the car will know. Im not sure about Canada, but in the US, at least where I was, that's a safety item, and if you get caught disabling it, could mean big trouble. If you're tire goes flat, or is starting to, then you're not going to know it, hence why its there to protect you and others.
IMO I would get the codes checked to see whats causing the fault.
This might be a dumb question but is there any chance the ones you bought work at a different frequency? I think jags are 315 MHz.
It's actually a great question. And they vary by region. XF has 315MHz in the US but is I believe 433MHz in the U.K. I notice that the OP is in Canada. So definitely a possibility of confusion. What frequency did you install? And do you know for certain what the right one is in Canada spec cars? (Assuming yours isn't a US export)
