Default Touch Screen problem (Now with Japanese)

I was cleaning my 2011 XF this afternoon. I wiped across the touch screen, and all of a sudden, colors began to appear, and it eventually went to a screen full of boxes with Japanese characters. This screen will not go away. It appears to be some sort of diagnostics. How do I get back to the home screen?

I tried pressing all the hard buttons (on/off, home, etc) to no avail. Help!

Welcome hayesair, I moved your thread over here where it will get better exposer from the XF experts.

While you wait for your answer, hop on over to the "New Member" section and introduce yourself per our forum protocol. There are many benefits to doing such.

Enjoy all the site has to offer!

BTW the detailing section might have aided you in cleaning the touchscreen correctly.

It could be diagnostics, but if the screen layouts look similar you may have accidently changed the vehicle language when wiping across the vehicle setup selections on the menus. (Don't clean the screen with it active.) Look in the owners manual for the menu pics (in English) and select the vehicle settings using the appropriate box locations on the menus until you get to the language screen, scroll it till you find English and select. If the screen layout doesn't look similar to anything you've seen before or the above doesn't work, you'll have to take it to a Jag dealer and see if they can cure the problem.

I will shortly be taking possession of a Japanese-spec XF. I have, with the assistance of Graham and Grant of these forums, downloaded the English manual. I will be attempting to change the display language to English, and will post here how that goes for future owners in my situation.

Welcome to the forum. This section is for XF's rather than X Types but I am assuming that you don't have an owners manual for your car so have attached the Destination Entry and Stored Locations sections from the 2006 X Type Owners manual. Hopefully those will help you.
