Trading in my XF for a XFR
I also went from an XF to XFR. BMW wanted me to get an M6 and dropped one off for me to use for 3 days. I picked the XFR. There's no other car with such personality. It is truly a kick in the pants. And nothing gets close when it comes to acceleration and exclusivity. You don't seem them around. And I live in a car city - Los Angeles.
I kept my front plate in the trunk until around 2 months ago when my local police pulled me over after a night out at 2:00 a.m. and gave me a written warning. I put it on the following day!
>Such a shame you all have to run front plates up there though
Ya, Mass used to have a single green plate and those who kept them were grandfathered. Unfortunately after 30 odd years the paint is fading to the point where it won't pass state inspection and I'll be needing to get a new front/rear pair. I'm sad...

I use the tow plug up front and attach the front plate there and then remove it after the inspection. It passes inspection every time and there's no permanent damage to the front bumper. I just pay the fix it tickets. When I am asked why I do it that way I say it's to keep the plate out of the way of my front collision sensor which is actually true. As for the green plate I would see if you can paint it. Try a friendly body shop. Andrew
