The Jaguar Factory Workshop Manuals and other service documents contain "Pinpoint Tests," or diagnostic routines for many diagnostic trouble codes. Coventry should be able to follow these tests for codes that seem most relevant to the malfunction symptoms. The pinpoint tests are designed to rule out issues with wiring such as open circuits, open or high-resistance grounds, shorts to ground or battery power, malfunctioning mechanical and electronic components, and other issues. "Replace the module" is typically the very last recommendation in any pinpoint test routine.

exactly. Well said don. As usual. I have done a few of those pinpoint tests on my car searching a canbus fault. They are actually really good and precise for my car. They actually ruled out a canbus wiring issue and related modules on the network. As a curiousity don. I have the 2004 to 2008 jtis. Do the later models have this also or only thru Topix. Thanks

TOPIx is the best source for the most current information, but there are other options available for those who are willing to do some research. For example, the 2008-2009 and 2010-2011 XF Workshop Manuals can be downloaded in pdf form at the links below. Both manuals are probably largely applicable to most model years.

Jaguar X250 XF Workshop Manual 2008 -2009

Jaguar X250 XF Workshop Manual 2010 - 2011

I also have the 2010-2013 diesel manual, but I don't remember where I found it.

There are many sources online offering manuals for other model years for a small fee.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks, everything everone wrote makes perfect sense. Coverntry unfortuantly is behind the curve and should not be doing electrical repairs. I mean the last thing Coventrey said to me after charging $7500 is "its beyound us, take it to the dealer." It was beyound Coventry before it saw my car. Clearly. And take it to the dealer--who says that?? Someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

My only option is to find an electronics specialist as recommended here. Thanks for all the good input.
