Unhappy Trunk (boot) wont open automatically

Hello, this is the problem, there is no connection from the inside press release button on the left side of the dashboard..will not engage..also the button that you press under the Jaguar emblem will not engage ..only manual key will unlock the trunk... help with electrical system or fuse..Richmond Va 2009 XF SUPERCHARGE ..Travis187

Check the harness where it comes into the boot/trunk near the hinge for broken wire/s.

Wrong forum for an XF. If you have a real key and it's like an S-Type then just open using the key then fix whatever is bad.

Default Check the valet switch

Not sure about the XF, but on my '02 S-Type, if the valet button is pressed in, the other two switches are inhibited. The switch is inside the glove box, and easy to actuate by accident.

For valet parking, the logic is the owner actuates the valet button and then locks the glove box using the regular key. You then give only the valet key to the attendant, preventing access to the trunk or glove box.
