Default Trunk wont open 2013 XF

My trunk suddenly stopped opening and there is a "Trunk Open" warning light on the dash. Trunk isn't open. its the opposite. Closed and will not open. I press the button on the key fob and the release button in the car. It makes the clicking noise but will not open. The key fob also unlocks the doors now but wont lock them.

2013 Jaguar XF

Any and all guidance is highly appreciated.

New to the forums so I apologize if this is posted on the wrong board.

Sounds like the trunk lock actuator is faulty. Is there a manual key backup on trunk? If so, open and then put small screwdriver in latch and push close. It should suck down.

You're in the wrong forum for a 2013, this is for cars from 2015 which are totally different even if they look the same ! You'll get better responses in the XF (X250) forum in the Modern Jaguars section.
Has the trunk lid got gas struts or does it open up using a motor ? I've had problems with an X350 that had weak struts and the lid wouldn't rise enough on opening, so the car elecronics got a bit confused. The X350s had a key facility as well, so I had to use that in the end.

Welcome to the forums KTFROM504,

I've moved your question from X260 (2015 onwards) to X250 (2007 - 2015) forum. This is the place to post questions about your 2013 XF.

When you've resolved the lockout issue, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

I dont think this is a mechanical issue. Seems like the trunk is jammed because its stuffed and its perhaps caught on something.

Did you try the lock with the emergency key blade (2) from the Smartkey directly in the lock (5)?
