Tyre Pressure Sensor and Valve

Tyre Pressure Sensor and Valve
Hi everyone, first time poster as its the first issue I've really had with my Jag in 2 years.
Basically my Jaguar XF S diesel (2010) has tyre pressure sensors fitted, my car warned me that i need to check my tyre pressure, so i proceeded to do so. Unfortunately when i came to do it i found that the valve caps had fused to the valve. I managed to get one cap off with a little force but when it came to the next one the valve sheared and my tyre went flat.
My question is, is it necessary to replace the entire tyre pressure unit OR can you just buy a new valve that slots into the sensor? I have seen some things on eBay but i don't know if they are right for my car. My car is due for a service so I asked the guy at the desk and he wasn't too sure but thought it would need the sensor unit replaced but i thought i'd ask here to.
Anyone had it done before?

You need to replace the whole sensor. Although at 7-8 years old they are at the end of their battery life anyway so you may consider doing the others (not cheap - try and source them yourself but don't get aftermarket as they are temperamental on the jag system)
I'm guessing your valve caps are metal? You should never have metal ones on tpms - two different types of metal and they fuse together as you discovered
Check the others. You may need to replace them all
