Default Unrecognised critical warning - XF

Hi all,

I bought a 2015 XF 7 or so months ago and had no issues with it to date. Currently sat at 85km and still running fine. I came back from a 2 week vacation and on my return home from work, I was met with a critical warning symbol that I cannot find in the manual, or even on google. The only new symptoms I’ve seen is that the AC no longer comes on when I start the car (works if I turn the AC on manually) however it will turn on automatically if I’m fueling and then restart the engine quite soon after turning it off.

Thanks for the support in advance!

Apologies for the blur!

Most likely the battery if you were away for 2 wks. Slow drain on the battery and that can give all sorts of spurious errors.
Would start by fully charging the battery. Clear the error and see. If still gives the error then pull the codes and post them here.

>Most likely the battery
That was my thinking, too. These cars are particularly sensitive to battery related issues (perhaps all modern cars with complex electronics also).

That was telling you to look at the little display by the speedo/rev counter for the real error message so did you do that, and if so, what did it say?

+1

These cars like/need to be driven. Let them sit for a couple of weeks and they will punish you. I place mine on the battery tender if I'm not going to be driving it for a few days or more.
