Default Want a new Navigation System for 2009 XF Supercharged

Hello,
May I please get suggestions on what options I have for a new navigation system for my 2009 XF Supercharged?
Does Jaguar have a new system, or is my car too old?
Does another company offer a navigation system that is compatible with my car?
Yes, I do use Googe Maps on my apple phone, but wondering about an updated navigation/control system?
(my jag only has 36,000 miles....)
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your time and suggestions.

Unfortunately it's not straightforward because the existing Jaguar unit controls some car functionalities (e.g. heated/cooled seats, steering wheel heating) that can't be activated via other buttons. I'm also exploring my options, because I'd like to keep my car for many years to come but don't want the nav to become increasingly outdated - see this thread as a starting point (links to other threads included):

Whereis provided the mapping software for Jaguar. My recently purchased 2010 XF came with mapping software from 2009 (totally useless). I was able to get 2019 mapping software for Australia/New Zealand from: Jaguar Navigation Disc Australia & NZ V25 2019, GPS SAT NAV

You could check with them to see if they have software for North America.

Just my personal opinion, but six year old mapping software for $199. What good is that? Your money would be better spent on a new Garmin or TomTom with free lifetime maps.

On the link @kenmicn posted is saying that the map is from 2018.
I mean the price is still steep, don't get me wrong, but at least is not 6 years old.

Problem with the new unit is that you need to find a place for it on your dash... and there aren't many places to put one on the XF...

I think a good solution might be some sort of GPS with a head-up display... do they make something like this!?
Put that thing next to the window and it will reflect on it when needed.

The OP has a 2009 XF and you have a 2012. Two different systems. 2009 usues a DVD. I believe the 2012 uses USB. Please correct me if I am wrong.

DensoJAGUAR XK/XF - NORTH AMERICA MAP DVD VERSION 2013-2014

No worries, mate. I just hate giving people the wrong info. A bean bag mount for a TomTom or a friction mount for a Garmin (both available on the big auction site) will fit anywhere on the XF dash (about the size of an aircraft carrier) if you do not want to mount it on the windscreen.

I have found that most in-built GPS systems (both my 2010 XF and my wife's 2016 VW) are pretty sh!tty and not user friendly.. Even though I updated my XF mapping software for local travel, I find my seven year old Garmin Nuvi with lifetime maps much easier to use. Plus, I can take it with me on holiday and use it in a rent-a-.car.

Mate have you looked at NavTool 4.0 it would not only take care of your Nav but also over all add a lot more capabilities, there is a Gentleman here in SantaCruz who installed that on his car and seems to be working fine over a year
