As a point of info to others, my dealer just replaced my water pump when I brought it in for its annual service. They said there was visible moisture on the pump. Only 16300k miles, 2011 XF SC. Other than the creak of the steering column on entrance/exit auto adjustment and squeaking door seals, no other issues. I did ask them to check the pump given info from other forum members but was told they would have done so regardless.

 

You were lucky to get 16.3 million miles out of it ...

 

Common. There was a TSB for water pump seepage, many of us had our pumps replaced under warrantee.

 

Just thought I'd add to the database; good catch rdyoung, need to type carefully! It's good to know others are reading carefully!

 

Mine was replaced last month at 33K miles. The tech told me they are a common failure in the XF.
