Default Will a 2014 Gear Selector work on a 2011 XF?

Hi Guys,

The gear selector has gone belly up on my 2011 XF-S (gets stuck in gear and wont allow rotation to select gear) - so was going to replace it with a newer version i.e. one from a 2014 model. I'm assuming this is a direct replacement fit wise, but anything to be aware of (other than its aesthetically different).

kind regards,
Rowan.

It will work(gears will change) but "Gearbox fault" and "special modes are not available" will be displayed.

Ah perfect, thanks. I was just trying to see if there was a newer version of the GSM module which had better quality.

Do you guys know what the correct part number would be for my car? 2011 XF-S 3.0 diesel.
