I have been trying to get a 1997 xk8 on the road. I replaced the security module and wiring in the trunk. The car now runs but it will not shift out of park. I have tried jumping connections at the brake pedal switch to see if the switch was bad. It did not seem to help. The brake light has not worked when I applied the brake pedal. I am aware that the security module will need to be reprogrammed. Is this related to the shifting situation? The convertible top is also inoperable. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Any luck with the car linc? Did you try the key 'unlock' above the gear shift? Did your YM have this?
