Window problem on XK8
Here's a peculiar problem, when I close my door my window goes "down" and inch rather than "up" an inch to seal it closed against the convertible top. The window will continue to go down an inch or teo every time I pull up on the handle???
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help.

Does it show that the top is open? or the door is open on the instrument cluster? I had a similar problem with my Audi and it turned out that the convertible top switch (to tell the car the top is closed) had gone bad and the car thought the top was always open.. I really have no idea whats causing your problem, but it sounds like its either: a window regulator, convertible top switch, or door switch/lock issue.. Good luck, Eric

Ken, it should be one of two things... try in this order.
(1) program the window - sit inside, close door, raise window and hold down button till you hear a click (about 3-4 seconds), then lower the window all the way and hold... another 3-4 seconds. Raise it back up, and test the door again. It should work normally. If the battery is disconnected for long periods, the programming is lost and needs re-educated.
(2) if this occurs again, your battery is not holding enough charge to retain these functions, just need a brand spankin new battery and you'll be good.
