Default windows auto fuction not working

Hi,
I have a 2011 jaguar xf. I do have warranties I am curious to know the cause of this problem though. Every time i use the auto function to role up the drivers side window the window roles back down twice. The third time the window does not allow me to use the auto function and i have to hold the button. This happens 9/10 times.
Thanks

Ajay, you may be having a little bit of extra drag in the window mechanism and that is causing the window to think that something is blocking it, resulting in it trying to roll back down to allow the item to get out. What you may want to try is reprogramming the windows (atleast with the X-Type, you can manually hold the button to make the window go up and then once the window is fully shut, keep holding the button for another 3-4 seconds and this gives the computer a chance to learn what a true "over current" or full shut current draw is and then you can release the button). See if this will fix your issue.

Procedure is the same for the xf.

Agreed that a reprogramming would be the first step to sort this out

I had exactly the same issue on just the passenger window on my 2010 XF/SC. I had it in for a few other issues and asked them to look. They said they reset the stop limits (I've seen instructions on another thread on here about that - you wind it all the way down then maybe hold the button and same up again - search and you'll find the specific threads. I've not used it a lot since then but so far seems to work...
