I'm trying to identify the wiring colour codes for the rear lights on my 09 XF. I'm connecting a trailer light socket and have all the bits required, including the recommended relay and everything is clear to me except the wiring loom in the boot. The colour codes for the trailer socket is fine and clear to me, no problems there. It's just the loom in the boot.
I removed some of the black tape and opened up the loom to see things more clearly, but all the "matching " colours don't seem to be there, and I have an excess of some colours, like blues and greens.
Is there a simple diagram available, explaining the colour codes, what wire does what? I have the workshop manual but can't find any wiring diagrams in it.
Any help much appreciated.

So I took a look see and found that some of the colours in the attached schematic, don't seem to exist in my loom. I got the left hand indicator working, following the colour code, (grey/orange) but can't find the matching (green/orange) wire for the right hand indicator. Also the schematic doesn't appear to show the tail light colours. Any further input much appreciated. Maybe there was a change between my 09 model and the 2012 schematic shown? Thanks in advance.

 

I wonder if you have a 2010 model year XF then because there is a different wiring guide for that.

The attached is the side lights for the up to 10MY plus the ones for 10 MY on.

 

Still no joy. Basically the schematic is the same as the previous one, where the colours shown don't exist in my loom. The loom is original as far as I can see, but it just doesn't match up. I think I'll just have to do a "trial and error" probe. Watch this space unless anyone can shed some light on this. No pun intended. Thanks for the inputs.
