Hello ladies and gentlemen I recently came across this issue with my xf 2008 2.7 gear selector it stays in drive from time to time and I have to use the emergency relise.

my question is if I take the unit out and replace it with another one will I need to code it?

Second question is if I will attempt to repair the current unit will I need to code it in if I will take it out many thanks.
