Default XF 2.2 d

Hi All
I am considering purchasing a XF 2.2 D Premium Lux. I currently own a Volvo xc 60 and am wondering if I would be doing the right thing . Have there been any serious issues with the 2.2 ?

I have no problem with my Volvo ,just want a change

Most posters here are from north America and we do not get the 2.2 as yet.

Try this board based in the UK:

Technical Discussion

The 2.2 is built on the same production line as all XF variants from the same parts except for the engine. The XF will be as reliable as your Volvo if not better. The handling and driving experience will be utterly different. The XF is essentially what Americans call a sports sedan. The XC 60 Volvo is a crossover: part SUV and part station wagon.

Jaginfo - Jaguar XF Forum

Try this one. Quite a few people got "banned" from the "original" site so started a new one.

Mostly UK owners many of whom own and really like their 2.2 diesel cars. Very good engine and well proven.

The 2.2 diesel is an well-established engine, and is unlikely to be any trouble. Of course, it is a 4 cylinder and not as powerful as the V6, but many people like the luxury of the Jaguar but aren't too concerned with having super performance. That's why Mercedes and others sell similar models; Jaguar has been very late tapping this market.

The 8 spd does a good job of maximizing the useful torque.

Faster. The 2.2 is a much more powerful engine and the 8 spd gives better performance.

The XF is no heavier than the smaller S Type. The hood and trunk lid are aluminum and the steel is stronger so the bodyshell is probably a bit lighter than the all steel S Type.
