Default XF 2010 bonnet adjustment options

Hi, whilst washing my new to me Jaguar XF (first gen), I noticed that the bonnet height doesn't align correctly. I have managed to get the alignment to be symmetrical by raising the bonnet stop on one side, however this leaves too much of a gap between the bonnet and the bumber. I also have tried screwing the bonnet stops all the way in but this only lowers one side.

Does anybody know of any other adjustments I could make? I was thinking that adjusting the catch or possible seeing if there is some wiggle room by loosening the whole bonnet.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

I thought I had that problem. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. One side was raised higher than the other. Finally I figured out it was cause when the hood was pushed down closed, some how one side would not catch the hook and it lead me to believe something was wrong. Now when I close the hood I drop it from about 2 ft so it has enough pressure to close on both pins. I can't say that's your problem, but that is what happened to me.

Look what I found whilst cleaning my car today! ... It was wedged in the locking mechanism! Now the bonnet fits perfectly 😀. Thanks

Now to figure out where that thing came from...

I just remembered where I've seen that fastener before..I think It is one of Three that hold the Fuse Box cover down...I know, I have one right now sitting in the belly pan under the engine
