I took my 2011 5.0 XF in for service and had some of the retaining clips, etc replaced from sunroof. I realize the sunroof noise is common on these vehicles. During the inspection, they found the coolant to be leaking, so they did a coolant leak inspection and found that the water pump is leaking. They went ahead and replaced it. I am getting concerned as my vehicle warranty will be up in 2015. If I purchase the extended warranty, will issues like this be covered? Any advice would be helpful, thanks guys!

 

When purchasing an extended warranty you will have many levels to choose from. It's a little early to worry about an extended warranty, I'd just cross that bridge when the time comes.

 

I agree, but it's probably worth it since there are problems this early.

 

Usually if it there is a problem, it will show up in the first couple of years. Remember when cars had a 1 year, 12K mile warranty. People usually kept the cars longer too. I really appreciate the warranties offered today!

 

Actually, extended warranty prices have several price jumps as milage increases. Varies with the warranty company, but if I remember right, the stuff quoted by Momentum Jag in SW Houston had increases at 24kmi and 36kmi, and they were non-trivial increases. If should shop around now if you are really interested.
