Default XF depreciation vs lease

Hi Folks

not quite sure if this is posted to the correct section, hopefully it is.

Here is my financial dilema about the XF.

I can do a 3yr personal lease for a 163xf lux for around £13,500 all in.

OR

I can buy a 2.5yr old XF le sport 200 ( I know im not totally comparing like with like for £22,000).

So the question is what will be the residual value of the used car in 3 yrs time assuming good condition/avg mileage. In other words will it depreciate by more than £13,500 hence id be better just leasing a new car

thanks a lot and hopefully someone can help.

PS - If anyone out there knows of the cheapest UK site for a Jaguar personal lease please let me know

thanks Graeme.

Your lease residual will give you an indication of what the leasing company thinks the value of the car will be after 3 years. You should have this info from the lease deal. Are these used vehicles?

Thanks for that.

The lease deal I mentioned is for a brand new car. All i have is the 3 yr cost for me to lease it. They assume I hand it back so haven't provided a residual value.

My other example was to buy a car which was 2 yrs old from a Jaguar dealer.

They should reveal the residual as part of the lease deal. I would guess the new car would be worth 50 percent of MSRP after 3 years, but that's based on USA numbers. Could be less.
