Default XF Supercharged 2011 Auxiliary Radiators

Well, I just got my XF, come to find out the supercharged has aux. radiators. To preface, my car is a salvage title. Was in a front end collison/side. Didn't know these babies had two side radiators.

Anyone on here a Jag tech? The radiator is $450! That is not including the mount and bumper vent. I am tempted to just plug the hose and call it a day for now. Anyone know if this extra radiator is crucial to preformance? I've never seen 3 radiators before.

At any rate, I am going to either have to get it from the ******* or keep looking at www.car-part.com for the part. I know a guy who has it in Blacksberg SC for $250 but he won't ship it for some reason. (anyone live close to there by any chance?)

I will give a full post on my rebuild if anyone is interested. I purchased from Copart for $22,000, was hoping to not spend more than $3,500 on rebuild, we will see, the roof pillar and quarter have some pretty good damage that my body shop guy will need to repair. That might be the kicker.

Thank you for any insight/help.

Default Adding some pics

I will post a few more pics tonight of the radiator. Here is a pic of the front of the car, as you can see it got hit on the right side, wasn't too deep.

I am not sure, but one of them could for the transmission.

Nice looking car. Good luck with the rebuild.

Ah, maybe one cools the tranny. I wish I had a service manual.

Anyone have access to TOPIX or a print out to share or a pdf of what the Aux. Rads do? I tried to follow the connection. Right hose goes back into radiator and the other goes off somewhere I was freezing so I didn't follow it. I will find out today perhaps when I look at it again.

The small radiators located on each side behind the small grills are engine oil coolers, at least they are on my 09 XF SC.

OK, that clears that up, radiators for oil cooling. I put BARS Leak fix in the top of it to no avail, after 15 mins it still was leaking, the LEAKS are just way to big, it was pretty mangled. I think I am HOSED and will just have to eat the $450 (GULP) to get one from the dealership. I haven't been able to find it cheaper anywhere else. I might even close it up with a connector...for now, until a salvage yard has one. If anyone wrecks their XF SC, let me know...

You better be good friends with your body guy if you want to get the cost under $3.5k. You'd have to find used parts because the bumper/hood/headlight cost more than $3.5K new through discounted sites.

The cars are still too new to find many parts on car-parts.com.

Try this site for the radiator: http://www.gaudinjaguarparts.com/par...OLING%20SYSTEM

If you have any interest in a 2009 XF Supercharged bumper let me know. Changes from 09-11 are relatively minor. I went to a 2011 XFR bumper. My old one has some very minor damage: scratch near headlight and a small slit which is covered by the hood when closed. PM me if you are interested. I have pictures and I'm not looking to get much for it. Bumper is black and might squeak by without a repaint if you aren't picky.

Good luck with the rebuild!

I got a bumper local for $250 primed. They said they would paint for $100. That is the benefit of living in a major metro city like Houston. I can source a lot of labor and parts cheap. I already purchased:

Headlight - $200
Rear Tail Light - $50
Bumper - $250
Hood - $320 (needs paint)
Aux. Radiator - $380

I am out ~ $1250 so far (prices are w/ shipping).

I still have to get some other parts. I think you are right, that damage to the quarter panel and pilar is NOT going to be cheap. I am hoping the guy that I know who said he would do the work at cost (he is my neighboor) gives me a slammin deal to do the body work, otherwise I will be at about $5,500 for everything fully repaired. The way I look at it though, it is still $15,000 less than current retail of $45,600.

It's cool your saving this one from being parted.

Take many pics and post up a repair log, this will help others later to keep more from the same fate.
