The literature indicates that the XF S/C and XFR weight was reduced from 4,306 pounds in 2012 to 4,134 in 2013. Is this accurate or just a literature update? I know the 8 speed was introduced in 2013 (and probably added weight), but what vehicle changes could account for 172 pound weight reduction? This is too large to be explained as a "literature update".

 

8 spd is actually lighter than the 6 spd it replaces. It is possible Jaguar has changed the way it calculates curb weight.

 

Could it be possible the lower curb weight is actually the 4 cylinder version not the S/C or XFR versions? Maybe it's a typo in the literature.

 

Don't believe it's a typo. XF 2.0 weight listed as 3,660 lbs, 3.0 RWD as 3,902, 3.0 AWD as 4,415, and 5.0 S/C and XFR as 4,134.

 

Has to be a typo - and you can find quite a few in both the literature and the manual. Absolutely no way the AWD adds over 400lbs - more correctly on the order of 200 - I know Jagular will say it's EXACTLY something or other. Took a quick look online and the AWD is listed at 4,145, not 4,415. So not sure if you read incorrectly or if it was a typo on print material.
