Default XF/XK Smart key replacement button/bezel

I decided to it was time to replace the chrome bezel on my remote (XF), since they get beat up so easily. The chrome wore off in some spots within 6 months and i handle them with delicacy.

I found a source on eBay and placed the order. Got it in the mail today and they are OEM replacements. Therefore, wanted to make the recommendation in case anyone needed them.

You get the two chrome bezels and just the pad with the buttons on it. They were both packaged neatly with Jaguar part numbers on each piece.

As it goes.....Cheers

I hate to say it, but you probably can get them cheaper at the dealer:

Didn't think the dealership would sell them sperately. That is an excellent deal.

You can get some really good deals on ebay, but sometimes, not so much.

Regardless, great to know this is an option. I figured you would need to replace the entire key. I will have my dealer order two sets and pick them up next time I bring my car in. Thanks!

The parts are dealer items separately. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ishment-90370/ for more info.

Actually, if your are still in warranty, the peeling chrome is a covered item.

Just bought those replacement parts from the local dealer for my XF key. Cheaper than what I found on eBay when factoring shipping in.

Hey everyone, that's nice to know in the event that mine get scratched and/or scuffed.

I noticed that the 2013 models have a more rectangular key. What do you think about the merits of that key and whether one could remove the electronics from a 2010 key and put it in a new fob? Also, I think the 2013 mechanical key is inserted differently into the key fob, so you'd need a new key cut.

Switching the electronics might work, but the new remote will not fit into the charging station/slot in case you ever need to utilize it.

Just so you are aware...

Good point. Besides which, I don't see how the new key fob is better -- just different.
