XFR First 4 weeks in
Hi,
Have recently joined the forum and wanted to contribute,
I finally took the plunge and bought an XFR 4 weeks ago.
It still has the new car smell that I love, just wish they could box up that smell and save it as it doesn't last long
I've sat long and hard to think of any ****les but honestly I can't, it's a great piece of engineering.
It's quiet, very quiet in fact, behaves impecably in city traffic and is quite happy just poodling along
But then get it on an open road and it is a real wolf in sheeps clothing
Obviously I can't open it up fully but I have most fun squirting it from 50-70 mph in under 2 seconds, about the time it takes to overtake something
But driving it enthusiastically makes it a thirsty car
MPG was saying 16.1 mpg and even driving carefully on an open road I only managed to get it up to 17 mpg so now I don't bother anymore, I just drive to enjoy and I think this mpg for a Supercharged 5.0 is pretty good anyway.
And to be honest if I was looking for more mpg then I'd have gone for the 3.0 Diesel S, which is also a beautiful car.
I've always loved Jags and chopped in an X Type 2.5 auto towards this which I had for 3 years, and again had no problems at all with that either.
I've taken some pics a couple of days ago which I will add when my account lets me,
Also I'll explain more about Jaguar's track day at Gaydon last week when I get more time
Btw also thanks for all the kind comments so far on my intro you guys are awsome
Regards,
Steve from the UK
