Xfr s/c 5.0 engines that are blowing
I understand that Audi may have similar issues.
It all boils down to the manufacturers using low compression piston rings to increase mileage.
Wouldn’t it be simpler if your Jaguar flashed your oil level for a few seconds whenever you started your car on level ground? My 2011 XJ has 91,000 miles on it and I do the oil changes. Around 60,000 miles I changed the oil and made sure it was at the full mark. No surprise since I put in 8.75 liters of Jaguar oil with a filter. A week later I checked the oil level and it was down 3 liters? I checked it again a few times to confirm it wasn’t a bad sensor. I put one liter in at a time and waited until it read full. It took 3. If I would have had someone else do the oil change, I would have blamed them for under filling the oil. I ended up cleaning the manifold and the crankcase valve ( pretty clogged up) The issue never happened again 30,000 miles later. I have no idea where that oil went? I pulled the bottom pans and the only leak was the rear main seal , which I had replaced at 80,000 miles.
I do the vacuum method. I purchase the oil from my local Jaguar dealer @ $8.75 liter, but I buy my oil filters online via Reno Jaguar. The local independent Jaguar service center uses Motul oil.
That is partly correct; the system will not give any reading until the oil has fully drained back, but does work on a stone cold engine, giving a reading around 3/4 along the bar & showing OIL LEVEL OK, when doing it according to the instructions would show the whole bar; presumably because the oil expands when it's warm, giving a higher reading.
I have little faith in your ability to rationalize.
I saw your suggestion in another thread that we should go around shooting cats. Why do you buy cars that have cat insignia all over them?

The rationalisation is simple enough:-
Jaguar the car; the best value available, new or used, and in all important respects superior to any other manufacturer's product. It does what I want perfectly.
Jaguar the animal; quite different from the scummy creatures kept by some sub humans in order to annoy their neighbours.
For the record; I did not suggest that we should "go around shooting cats", but that shooting trespassing cats in the back of the head would prevent them from further damaging one's property; not the same.
I had the same problem with a Lotus Super 7! It ran a modified Ford Cortina engine and I spun a rod bearing racing a Porshe on a slolom course. The engine was oil-starved, but only on hard turns in one direction. The solution was to go dry sump or install baffles. I did neither, just stopped racing it.😢
