XFR S/C belt wear - shedding rubber in bay - help needed
I finally got the car back together. I noticed this wear in the engine bay on my Mira pipe and down by the tensioner. Has anyone seen this before? It accompanied an odd chugging / lower idle. My greatest fear is this is a result resistance and the supercharger binding up as I experienced some tolerance issues with the coupler.
Note that I may have reversed the belt from it's original rotation on installation but I'm not certain.
That looks more like someone cleaned your engine bay and used a rubber protectant/armor all/black magic something like that and you're flinging those oils. I see the same thing on the body of my car after they 'slick' my tires up.

I had just put the car back together (SC/cooling system service) and didn't use any clearers. I'll probably replace the belt in spring for peace of mind.
Is the tensioner still tight?
what kind of issues with the coupler? Did you end up with a factory coupler?
I believe this is wear in as I reversed the belt. I'll replace it in spring.
I briefly had the ZZP coupler on my car (2011, vacuum operated) and to get it on the charger I regrettably used a rubber mallet to seat the snout and charger with the clearances on the coupler being too tight. I replaced the coupler with a factory after much deliberation. there was some movement on the snout as it was binding up the bearings on the charger. This has been resolved.
