Clarity needed on my supercharger tensioner version
While changing my water pump (third time in two years a charm!), I noticed the supercharger belt was very worn down according to the indicator. It had been making noise, so this made sense.
The belt that was on it was double sided. At the Jag dealer, there were options for two belts, one from the non upgraded tensioner, and the newer one. It's an 02, so I assumed that I had the newer one. When it came in, it was single sided.
My supercharger tensioner is smooth (it looks groved because of wear marks, but it is smooth), and it is metal.
All the other pulleys are grooved. Is this the upgraded tensioner? Is the belt the right one for my tensioner and idler?
idler? The posts on the forums about this have me so confused.
Pictures attached - any help would be appreciated before I attempt the stupid amount of work it will apparently take to change this belt
that's the correct belt mate. It's hardly a big job, remove the fan assembly for loads of room, 2 bolts and a couple of zipties.
Use a 1/2" breaker bar locate in the accessory belt tensioner and slip this out the way then remove the SC belt, shouldn't take more than half and hour.
