Thanks for the updates. Very curious how the outcome will sound. How were you able to order the center exhaust from the dealer? I heard they require a XFR-S VIN to order parts.

Do you have the valves deleted on your mufflers?

You can celebrate with some Suntory when it's all finished.

Here is a pic of a 2013 stock center section of my base XF V8 Supercharged.

Slip fit to the rear pipes

Staggered “V” band (kind of) from downpipes

I don't have the valves deleted, what I'd like to do is see if I can make them so I an open/close them manually.
That Suntory is fantastic by the way. : )

Search around on here. I'm pretty sure someone did that a few years ago. They cut out the valve and put in an open / closing valve with control switch on the dash so they could decide when to be noisy

Sidebar: does anyone know if the rear cans on the XF are stainless steel or aluminized steel?

Follow up Follow up, aka update.

Had a shop bolt in the XFR-S center section.
Sound is not really louder, per se, but marginally better. A bit more growly and more defined is the best I can describe it.
Roll off pops are much less tinny sounding and every once in a while one seems to be especially boomy.
Zero cabin resonance.
It's been raining non-stop so I haven't been able to really test any power or response gain from the x-over section.

Thumbs up

Sorry for the string of updates, can't figure out how to edit my last post.

It must've broken in over the past days because it really sounds good now. Not loud, doesn't drone but all of the good that was there before is easier to hear. Growly but not boomy. 10 10 recommend.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear, growly but not boomy. Any chance you can upload a video clip?

I'll try and get that tonight.
Yes, the only thing I've changed is that I swapped in the XFR-S center section with the x-over.

Sorry, I've tried twice to get a decent audio recording. No luck, for some reason.
