Black was definitely an option for the XFR-S, in the UK and Australia anyhow.

I’m astounded that you can enter a drag race with those sorts of speeds and not be required to wear helmets at the very least. If I enter a grass auto cross with one of the car clubs here in NZ I am required to wear one.

That's an awesome sound, imo. Care to share who you used for exhaust work? I used extreme performance in Norcross to remove the resonators closer to the rear, now thinking to add an x-pipe and remove center one as well.

Wow that sounds amazing! With the valves closed it actually seems pretty quiet. If it were me though, I'd drive around with it open all the time! Did you notice any difference in performance having changed your exhaust?

My XFR is also Polaris White like yours, except you have different hood louvers. I have thought about having mine painted black or maybe getting the Mina Gallery carbon fiber ones. What does your car have? They look very nice.

You went to the right place, Alan is great, that's where I got my work done. I have used him for my past 3 cars. Give him a call and ask about the white Jaguar sedan that got the X pipe done and he will know what to do. Since your's is the 3.0 supercharged, doing the X pipe will make it sound close to the F Type V6 S and that car has one of the best V6 exhaust notes I have ever heard!

It's as quiet as stock if not quieter with the valves/flaps fully closed. Trust me I have it open most of the time, close it only when I take calls in the car, have non car people in the car, or in the parking garage at my workplace because of how obnoxious it sounds in an enclosed space. I don't want to give off the wrong vibes at my place of work, so I love having the ability to make her sound civilized

Throttle feels slightly sharper when I have the valves fully open and I feel a bit more torque when I have them fully closed (Take this with a grain of salt, might be placebo). For the best performance improvement, place the X pipe up front right after the cat converter and for best sound improvement, further back on the midpipe.

I bought mine CPO and the dealer told me the hood louvres were OEM carbon fiber pieces put on by the previous owner. I don't know how true that is, if he was being honest, they retailed for $1200. OEM or not they look really good and I get a lot of compliments on those.

Look at what time flashed first. It was the Mercedes by about three seconds.

I don't know where he races but I race at several places and do several different kinds of racing and I am required to have a current rated helmet at the very least. In the states we follow the Snell ratings which means your helmet can only be so old before it requires replacement even if it never saw any impacts.
Sometimes fire retardant gloves, shoes, pants, shirt are required.

I have also been barred from running over certain speeds without a full roll cage and fire suppression system installed.
Bonneville salt flats in particular but only if your in certified competition. On your own you can run what you want at the salt. Problem is the surface. If you run during speed week they have dragged the salt to help smooth it out some. Otherwise it's pretty bumpy at 150 MPH+.

Default X pipe placement

I placed mine up front exactly where resonators were on my 4.2 SC. Completely changed the car best mod ever!!!!

Stock XFR vs. XFR-S mid-pipe

just wanted to show the difference between the stock components here. So for those that want to modify their mid-pipe into an x-pipe I don’t see a good exhaust shop having any issues with the job.

Yep, that's exactly what I had done on my old XFR.
Except that it was an H-pipe rather than an X-pipe, on the advice of my exhaust specialist.

I put my x pipe toward the back and welded two cutout right at the rear end. I'll post a video of the sound.

So you completely eliminated the muffler looks like. From what I understand the further back the x-pipe placement the louder the exhaust note.

Does it make a funny noise or wrrasp around 2500-3500rpm? I ask this because I got a x-pipe with just resonators and it sounded like I was driving a damn Honda Civic through that range. Just curious.
