Yet Another Jaguar Voice Thread
2011 XF-R here. It's pretty well loaded spec wise, has sat nav, DAB and bluetooth etc. I have a fully functional SDD which I've used to enable the Jaguar Voice option in the CCF (changed from 'without voice' to 'with voice' - there is a 3rd option of 'advanced speech recognition'). Menu in the dash screen changed from phone to comms and the voice button on the steering wheel no longer mutes the audio. However... nothing else happens! If I go into Comms and then Voice and hit Tutorial it says "Playing tutorial" but nothing happens. There's no noise, it doesn't stop playing the radio or whatever.
I have seen some mention that it's perhaps tied to the sat nav disc - that the recordings for the tutorial etc are on the DVD. I don't have the original DVD that came with the car, but I do have a real, purchased from Jaguar, 2012 nav DVD and an eBay 2018 DVD - neither of which make the voice work.
Is there some other option in the CCF that needs tweaking? I've only changed the 1 flag for voice, as the microphone option was already set to '1 mic'. It can also be set to '2 mics' but unless I had 2 mics fitted I suspect that would be a bad idea. Any suggestions from people who've made the change before?
