I’m trying to find certified ZF transmission locations in the Chicago land area and I’m having the hardest time... I’ll go to the dealer but I would prefer not to deal with those butchers.

Hearing a clunk/cling kind of noise when I let off the gas paddle, then when I press on the gas again another clunk/cling kind of noise. When I called the dealer the service guy said it’s probably my suspension... Highly doubtful in my opinion. Probably solenoids but I would like to have that confirmed and looked at by a REAL ZF certified professional.
The shifter also makes that same noise but louder when I shift from park to reverse or drive and the car jerks.

I'd be looking to swap out a) the rear transmission mount and b) the engine mounts before getting the transmission overhauled. It sounds much more like driveline shunt than a transmission fault. Check the guibo (flexdisc) out as well - it's not sold as a part separately by Jaguar but if you have a search @Bigg Will has done an excellent thread on replacing it with an alternative part.

Also have engine mounts checked, its happening along with throttle inputs. Park it, watch the engine lump thrash more than it should while somebody gives it the boot, and listen for the clunk.

Agreed driveline clunk is usually a driveline issue. Originally Posted by davetibbs

Got some news back and I quote, “one of the transmission mounts is completely shredded.” Originally Posted by Bigg Will
