1995 Jaguar XJ6 - Battery Level
Hey,
This past Monday somebody drove into the back of my Jaguar, it caused a little damage to the rear bumper. Since than (don't know if the incident has anything to do with this), the gauge showing the Battery Charging Level just hovers way below 13, and when you put any acceleration on the car it squeals like no tomorrow...than you let off the gas and the squealing stops.
Any ideas on what this could be?

Well, your alternator belt is slipping. Most likely you need to tighten or replace it. Somebody is likely to say you COULD have ashorted battery, but I doubt that. It is probably not related, except maybe you left the lights on without the car running whilst you told off the offender, causing the battery to discharge some????
I took the car up to the mechanic because one of the stems on the wheel needed a repair anyway, and they took a look at the belt and alternator. Turns out the belt was very dirty and it was a tad loose. As of now the car is back to normal. I hope it stays that way!
$60 fix.

lol, it's 100% covered under insurance. I'm going to take it to the body shop that MCL Motor Cars uses, they are a high end dealership of Aston Martin, Land Rover, Bentley, Porsche, Jaguar etc it's located in Vancouver, BC!
