1996 X300 still not starting!
I guys i've posted a few threads on hear in the past about issues with my X300.
A long story short it hasn't started since February, the tacho reads 0 when cranking so changed the ckps and checked all the wires etc. the fuel pump is good and last but not least replaced the engine ecu and still wont go!
I plugged a maxiscan code reader into the Jag only for it to say in cannot connect with the car. Oh forgot to say the battery light is also on. Im at a total loss and really dont know what i can do. I love the the car to bits but am thinking of scrapping it as i cant affored anyone to come and look at it and its just sat on my drive looking neglected. Does anyone know something that i can do!

Have you worked your way through these?

There are other threads on here...I think this is what I got after searching "start" and culling my way through the first 100 of 300 or so returns. If you find one that is helpful and not in the list, throw a link in this thread and I'll add it to the no-start post

The battery light being on may be normal or it may be a clue. The ECM will not trigger the ignition if the battery voltage drops somewhere below 11V while cranking. What is the condition of the battery and how well is it charged? Can you measure the voltage at its terminals while cranking the engine?
The fact that the code scanner cannot connect with the car could support Ross' question about corrosion on ECM pins. Another possibility is a blown fuse, but I think that should trigger the lamp on the instrument cluster. It might be worth checking your fuses anyway.
You've confirmed the fuel pump is running. You can also measure for 12V at any ignition coil electrical connector. All the coils receive 12V whenever the ignition switch is in Position II, and that 12V comes from the ignition coil relay, which is mounted in the engine bay near the right inner fender/wing. If you have 12V at the coils, you can pull a plug to check for spark. An inexpensive noid light can tell you if the fuel injectors are being pulsed.
Please keep us informed.
Cheers,
Don

With respect, you are not going to fix this car just by asking the same question again. When you have posted previously, advice has been given on what tests to try by me and by others. You have not come back with results of those tests.
You need to work through this methodically as has been suggested again here in this version of the thread.
Post specific results of specific tests and the guys here will be able to help. There is no silver bullet I afraid.
