Great guide.
Photos like yours are always a big help to anyone coming to this job the first time.
I hope the oil leak is now history and MoT number 8 has no 'advisories'.

I saw another polished cam cover on another forum and thought I'd give it a go, simple enough, just takes quite a bit of time to do.
Am currently polishing a set of dimple alloys which I will post up when I get them finished and fitted.

Absolutely fantastic guide! Even my brother, a complete and utter muppet would be able to follow it! And about the camcover, I've painted mine to the same colour as the body, although it was just a quick job and I knew it wasn't going to last (cheap and rubbish clearcoat). And it just makes me wonder, since there seems to be a lot of issues with magnesium corrosion of those camcovers, isn't the process of polishing them going to speed it up? Don't get me wrong, I love the looks of it, my wife initially wanted me to do that in first place, but it's the corrosion I'm afraid of most.

I seem to have some seepage in that same area. Although it might be coming from the cam cover as there is some mess above that area with some oil detected at the cam cover seal. Other than an oil seepage is there a potential for any other problem related to that?
Thanks for a great post.
Thanks for a great post.
Thank you for that. That will be good for future reference. My area that I am living in this job not suited for that type of work so. Instance I have nowhere else to go I'm thinking of having that done by a mechanic.
