I posted a few weeks ago that I had ordered some electric exhaust cut outs from DMH.

We started fabrication to do the install yesterday. Had to fabricate some "extensions" to mount the cut outs at the bend after the headers. They will dump on both sides of the car, kind of like side pipes.

Wow, that looks awesome!

I did want to go the direction of the cutouts, but just lazily hacked off a few resonators instead figuring that I'd always like it loud!
Be sure to add some video of running the car with it open and closed!

 

DMH are not so good because they are "leaking". The best choice for the cutouts are BadlanzРЗУ for my opinion. The only problem with with BadlazHPE is that shaft of the damper is not sealed and cause of the corrosion it stucks.
I have them on my BMW. Firstly i've put them just after the catalic convertors but it was so loud.


Then i install them just before tailboxes and now it's fine.

 

Did your DMH cut outs leak?

Badlanz are "better" but they corrode and stick? Really?

I am not sure where you get your information, but when I did the research before I purchased my cut outs, DMH had the very best reputation for not leaking, having good sealed components and DMH had the best warranty, 4 years compared to 90 days to one year for the other brands.

Most problems with leaking cutouts are due to a sloppy install, bad welding or the use of clamps instead of welding, or the owner not waiting the required time for the sealer to cure and the assembly to seat before using them. Most people can't wait to try them immediately after installation is complete and the instructions explicitly say to let the sealer/assembly cure and seat for 24 hours after installation.

I you look at the pics of my install you will see the care my welder gave to making sure all the gaps in the cut outs were well sealed with weld bead and I waited the required 24 hours before I used them.

I also made sure I got someone with experience welding stainless to do the job. My guy welds at the local nuclear power plant and is a real pro.

"The proof is in the pudding" and mine have been on for over 2 years now with no problems. They seal perfectly every time, have no "corrosion" issues and have been a great addition to my XJR.

Dave at DMH was also responsive when I called him with questions.

Sorry for replying to an old thread, but I LOVE this idea. I looked on the DMH page, but all the electric cutouts they have look circular, not oval like your pictures. Can you provide a link to what you bought? Do you know what size exhaust for a 2012 Jaguar XK?

Talk to Dave @ DMH, he'd almost assuredly to make you a set of the elongated ones.

 

As was suggested, talk to Dave, he will make you a set of the low ovals like I got.

Can't help you with exhaust size, you probably want to measure anyway, could be different depending on where you are going to install the cutouts.

Put the car on a lift with your installer/fabricator and both of you look, measure and decide where to put the cut outs.

As you can see in my thread(s), we had to do some welding to properly seal the cutouts to the frame and fabricate most of the pieces to do the installation the way I wanted it.

I guess what I am trying to say is that this is not a "bolt on" mod. You have to do a little extra work so the cut outs seal and are properly placed.
