I had the Fuel Tank Door stuck in locked position and could not open. I read a lot about it in the forum but I couldn't move/release the locking pin with my hand. In my situation, I had to remove the two 8mm nuts and disconnect the connector and remove mechanism. At this point your fuel tank door is free to open. Once I had some leverage, I was able to move the locking pin back and was able to reinstall the device with no more issues. 5 minute fix and I now keep a small 8mm crescent wrench in the glove box! Gas is important!! I attached a picture in hopes it will help someone else.
