Default 2013 XJ 6 cyl coolant question

I recently bought coolant --> Peak Original Equipment Technology - European Vehicles - Extended Life 50/50 mixture coolant

Long list of vehicles on the container, including --> Jaguar 1997 and up.
Its Pink in color. I think my owners manual states "orange" coolant.

has anyone used this? Is it ok to add and mix with my orange coolant?

thanks

You need to quote the spec standards on the side of the container. Jaguar obviously love you to buy their own stuff, as it makes them nice profits, but lots of other suppliers stuff will do provided it is to the same spec.

Your Jaguar used Dexcool from the factory. That's what I use and recommend.

The container calls out ASTM 03306.

Dexcool......that makes it easy.

Default Wrong Advice

Coolant specification WSS M97B44 (colored orange) Extended Life Coolant.

Check your manual. Since 2004 (Perhaps even earlier.) Jaguar has used organic acid technology because jaguar has an aluminum engine. Somebody may have an ancient car where it didn’t matter but your car probably lists the same information I just posted at the top of this reply—that you follow that specification. (OAT orange.) Pentosin is pink but it meets the same specification.

I imagine there are other coolant manufacturers probably trying to get in on the bandwagon but if it has the same specifications it’s all right. OAT coolant will not eat away at your aluminum and will also prevent possible electrical issues by using the wrong coolant.

You can’t mix them, you must flush out the coolant you have (If not correct) and of course it’s always a 50-50 mix unless you get it premixed.
