Gentlemen, I recently noticed that my original dealer list of equipment and specs showed my 2014 XJ had daylight running lights. To my knowledge, the 2014 XJs do not have DRLs. So, I asked my dealer about this discrepancy. Here is the answer I received: "In America, that option gets turned off prior to their arrival in the country via a software change, even if they are equipped to have them. Most of the vehicles have the capability because the daytime running lights are a necessity in other countries."

Has anyone had the DRL software switched back on? What lights become the DRL's, signature or turn signal? Do they switch off with the headlights?

 

Why would they waste the time and effort to turn them off when the vast majority of cars in the US have them? Silliness.
