You are entirely welcome. I have not updated mine since new and have V30-11-02 and am thinking it's getting about time to update. Have you noticed any visual differences?

There does seem to be a visual difference in the map display. This is off the subject but I had HUD in my LaCrosse but the way the speed and how even the nav is displayed in the instrument cluster on the Jag, I do not miss the HUD at all.
As a matter a fact after awhile the HUD began to start getting annoying or let's just say I was getting tired of it and was about to turn it off before I traded for the Jag.

Just updated my NAV from V30.11.2 to V30.16.2 as I received a letter informing me that there was a brand new release. Install was easy, but you have to have your engine running and it took @ 2:45 hours. So far I don't see any change in graphics, but it does seem to have more data on roads that have been built than my original version.

Engine has to be running. It was at idle with HVAC, audio, and lights off. Any other way the electronics would go off after several minutes and update would be suspended. I checked with my tech Kieth at the dealership and they do this the same as you do not want the NAV to go to sleep or turn off. If the car turns off then the update will resume when the engine is started again. Also, when the update is in process the NAV. phone, and audio systema are not operational. Really no biggie.

I understand WHY the engine has to be running, but what I don't understand is why Jaguar has a process that takes THREE hours to complete with the engine running.

That's ridiculous.

Is yours the hard drive navigation? I did mine on my 2012 XF using the memory stick and just followed the instructions supplied with the stick. There was no need to leave the engine running. just insert the memory stick in the USB slot and then each time you have the ignition on, the map updates bit by bit. Mine took a couple of hours over 4 or 5 trips to complete. if I recall correctly, navigation wasn't available at the time, but the rest of the systems were. You can do it in one stint but I'd rather not leave the car idling for that long.

I'd do mine but the price of the update is just too much to make a crap navigation system with old maps in to a crap navigation system with newer maps.
