Has anyone figured out how to get the hood to open by bypassing the latch? My RH latch releases but not the LH latch. I'm guessing it could be messy. The latches appear to be on top where you can't easily get to them but someone surely has had this happen to them and fixed it. I'm thinking of trying to remove the drivers kick panel to have access to the cable but I have no information on how to do that.

I believe you need to remove the chrome looking strip from bottom of door jam that has xk8 on it....there's a technique for doing that and then you can take the kick panel off to access the cables. most likely the cable tip has come off or the plastic lever has broken for that particular side....there are 2 cables, one on each side of the 'round' part of the lever, the cable tips are inside of it.


I think you use a hair dryer to heat that strip to access the screws that hold down that piece...the kick panel is lipped and is under it.

others may have a more efficient method than mine. I had to change levers and reconnect the cable ends. I have yet to remove the door jam to put the kick panel lip in properly. will get to it though.
