Default Fuel filler door latch

This little piece of plastic is $40 at the dealer, $20 at SNG Barratt. It slips into the fuel filler door and provides a latch point for the electrically operated pin that locks the door.

Super Glue didn't work. Guess I will have to get the JB Weld out.

Any other solutions?

Gorilla Glue or a car that is being parted.

Cleaning and leaving the area moist then applying the glue has worked for me. Apparently not a good application for this situation.

What Jamdmyers said. There are plenty of 2 part epoxies out there, that will get the job done. They are formulated for about any material you can think of. On the flip side of the coin, as far as Jag parts prices go, $20 isn't such a bad deal. I personally repaired mine with epoxy.......Good Luck.......Mike

Probably have one from my parts car. Have to dig for it in my basement. Ten bucks plus shipping.

Let me know, Neil

I was able to repair mine with JB Weld off the car. That took some creative effort rather than the seriously permanent 'glue it in place' solution.

The waxed paper separated the side non movable pieces from the center spring attachment clip. Then the side guides were filled with slick nylon like plastic that the JB Weld would not stick to.

Clamping all in place while the JB Weld set was another issue. Got it done and back on. If it fails again I may try something like Elmer's Tack 'N Stik, a non permanent glue it in place option.
