Default X100 Rotary Switch problem

Hi all, I have a 98 x100 in Hong Kong and the gear box has been acting up again.

Bit of background, the car started to come up with gear box fault messages and dropping into limp home mode about 2 years ago, changed the rotary switch as advised by you guys. the car ran smoothly until recently the same problem came up again. now the big question is whether it is caused by the second hand rotary switch i bought last time, or something worst?

I am happy to get a brand new rotary switch to solve this once in for all, but I wanted to see if you guys have any suggestions or experience with this situation. thanks

Hi Gus, thanks for the reply, the car is jumping into limp home mode and giving me a gear box fault message, the second hand replacement rotary switch (from last time this happened) has been in for around a year.

I am unsure if it is the second hand rotary switch giving up or may it be something else that is causing the problem. thanks

Read the codes first and post them for us to see. This may not be a transmission issue.

Hi Gus, got some error codes over the weekend(P0706, P0790), I was told they are historical, but I assume at least one of them is current? sorry I am not too technical about this, the second Picture with P0790 roughly translates to Switch Circuit malfunction. I done a bit of reading and see that the J gate lights seem to play a big part of this, I am getting someone to have a look for me if that bit of info is needed. thanks for all the help!
