Default 2019 XJ Meridian Speaker

I was packing my 2019 XJ for a trip and noticed that the subs are fully exposed. Is this supposed to be like this or should there be some type of protective cover. Any help would be appreciated.

That's the way they all are. Here are mine: (I'm not as good with focus as you!)

Thanks for the reply. I had the trunk packed extremely tight with two suitcases stacked on top of each other and was worried about possibly damaging them.

Where you headed? We are heading to Grand Canyon, Arizona from Chicago in my 2013 XJL and similarly found some weird stuff in my car today.
