AC Compressor Removal?
Yes I got mine from here;
Jaguar OEM AC Compressor
I tried your link and it's the same seller I used but your listing indicates it does NOT fit my 2014 XJR? So maybe our cars are slightly different? Can't believe they are BUT I did find when researching this that 2014 had several different options. Why I don't know but you could have R134a or R1234y refrigerant. You could also have the conventional magnetic clutch on the compressor or the more modern setup with a shear pulley. No magnetic clutch at all.
I would for sure contact the seller. They sell a ton of AC stuff and seem to be experts. Mine was about $40 higher than the one you listed too.
Post back if you find out why they are different.

Hmm. I chose the one I ordered because it looked more like our original compressor to my eye than the other one, which may explain the difference in fittings. But I reached out to the seller, so we'll see what they say.
Updates: after 3.5 hours, I was able to get the factory ac compressor out. I found I had to remove the bumper entirely so I could have enough room to work from the drivers side wheel well.
Unfortunately, I am just now noticing that the compressor I got from that eBay link is a PXE16, while my factory unit is a PXC16. They look exactly the same except for a wire going to the pulley.
This is the unit that those eBay sellers recommended when I asked them last week. I’m waiting to hear back from them now.

This is why we say you must look at the label on the compressor itself, ignore part numbers and online diagrams. JLR used multiple types of compressors throughout the range. The new compressor in that picture is a PXC16.
No, the new one is labelled PXE16. My old one is PXC16. I’ll take pics of the labels later today.
My blunder was trusting the so-called experts. I knew the oem unit was a PXC, and I still cancelled the original order and went with their recommendation.
The only problem I’m seeing with that original order is that the label on the unit says R1234yf whereas my old one says r134a. The oem unit label states it can take either one.

Yes that is one of the differences I ran into and mentioned in my upthread post.
The one with no wire no longer has a magnetic clutch on the front. It's all one solid piece now. If the compressor locks up that is a special shear pulley that shears internally allowing the pulley to turn independently of the compressor.
I think when that happens it's compressor replacement time. I have not seen anyway to repair the shear pulley setup.
Also note the yellow O-ring in one of your pictures. Your OEM compressor does not have that and neither did mine. But my replacement did along with the small differences in the peanut fitting stud placement.

Ok, so I finally got the correct replacement compressor so all is well with that. And like @clubairth1 said, the studs are indeed larger. What a pain.
Big job glad to hear you got thru it! Consider yourself a "mechanic" now!
It was worth it to me. Nice cold AC and several thousand miles later it's still working fine. Just strange minor changes on the compressors with no documentation of what and when the changes were made.

Well, after waiting almost two weeks for the new condenser filter plug to arrive, I got everything buttoned up and vacuumed and ready for freon. So I start filling the system and POOF! One of the peanut fittings on the compressor blew. My hackjob didn't work after all. So now I've got no choice but to order those new style hoses and basically do the whole thing all over again.
Man so sorry to hear that! That was what I was afraid of too on my car but my modified hose is still fine. I do have the correct one so I can swap them when the time comes.

Yeah, it’s a real bummer. I’ve ordered the new hoses online from Harper Jaguar using the part numbers you provided earlier but they’re saying they don’t match my vin, which considering the compressor changes, makes sense. @clubairth1 are you positive those are the right numbers?
Yes for my 2014 XJR I have compared them physically. Same hose just different seal package and peanut fitting spacing.
That hose going towards the back of the car off the compressor is a real pain to remove and install.
Jaguar did not change the part number just how the parts are made. I don't think you can get the old style hose anymore.
Post back what your connections look like on the replacement hose.

OK, the new hoses arrived. I offered them up to the old compressor, and GOOD NEWS, they don't fit, so it looks like they will indeed fit the new compressor once I work up the courage to pull it all apart again.
