I need to replace the Driver side door lock actuator on my 2013 XJL 5.0. I found a Youtube video for replacing the actuator on an XF ( ), but in the initial step, the paneling is removed in a way that does not seem to relate to the XJ, and I don't want to damage the wood paneling or the leather.
Does anyone have instructions for doing this?

I would get the service manual for your XJ? It will pay for itself many times over.

where do I get one? I see KO scans on eBay... not sure this is a real option.

But the panels are super easy to remove. Its like 3 bolts and all push tabs. Just install new accent lights in all 4 doors.

 

I have seen several YT videos showing the door panel removal in great detail.
