Good day everyone! I've had a problem ever since I got the Jag; the right hand side passengers door sometimes only opens from the outside. Some times it works fine. Yesterday, I noticed I couldn't get the door open at all either from the outside or inside. I had to go inside and it tuns the door lock pin ( if that's the name for it ) was halfway, I had to move it upwards, then the door unlocked. The other left hand side passenger door does not have this problem. It's not that big of a deal, I'm just wondering if there's something I can do to fix the problem! Thanks!

Must be door actuator related.Originally Posted by Pilotman11

If you are lucky it meets resistance somewhere, either in the actuator itself, or in the mechanism.
You might solve it by opening up the doorpanel, get to it, and locate the problem.
If not, you might have to replace the actuator.
There is a video on youtube how to get to / replace the actuator, although he first had to get the door panel removed from inside as it was locked.

Looked it up for you. It is much easier to remove the panel if the door is open, 10 min max.

I had this on both rear doors of my XJ8. I just took a can of WD40 (Duck Oil?) with the nozzle tube and poked it inside the door catch. A 10 second burst whilst moving it around and both doors have worked ever since.
