Default Any way to lock the Doors while Engine is running?

The keyless ignition is a waste . You can't even lock the doors and warm up the car in this frigid 0 deg temperatures.
My Caddy had remote start heated seats car doors locked, and if someone jumped in the car the engine would stop if you put foot on gas or brakes.
Why can't the eoro cars do this?

Thieves can steal your car if it is running without the key fob. That is wrong it should shut the car when it doesn't recognize the key fob.
if you leave it running someone can jump in steal ur car take off they just can't restart it .

Be careful what you wish for. A lot of times in my XKR, I have "ket not detected" warnings. Thank goodness the car doesn't shut down every time that happens!

You're in NJ, amc is in Alrington, VA, and I'm in MD. Clearly we're all in the cold areas! I actually have an Audi Q7 4.2L which doesn't have remote start, but does have push button start.

I can get out of the truck, then flip the key blade out to manually lock the door. That works.

I tried something similar this morning in fact with the Jag. Didn't see a "key hole" but it was so cold I wasn't exactly looking hard. I did hit the button on the door, horn beeped twice but didn't lock. I think the beeping is to say "hey idiot you left the car running".

I'm not seeing this as a possibility. Last two shops I talked to about remote start said they wouldn't touch it. I'd much rather them say that then "f" something up. Same with the Audi most shops don't want to touch it.

My benz on the other hand, shops would do it, but for $1500 I didn't see the value since I trade these things in so frequently.

Our Camry! Done in 2 hours. Under $250! lol.

My issue is a hot weather one. Traveling with a dog often requires keeping the A/C going while stopped for lunch or some other brief chore. So far I haven't found the solution either. Although the car will continue to run without the fob nearby, I can't figure out how to lock it.

Dog left in car, engine running with car locked, even if you could, wrong on so many levels.

Good way to get the windows broken in "rescuing" the dog.
Also with broken window, car can also be stolen...
NOT a good idea..
